Coming off a heartbreaking season in 2021, which tried the team in just about every way you can image through its fair share of ups and downs, the Unitronic-JDC Miller Motorsports team has renewed confidence for 2022, setting their sights on a championship run with their #17 Audi RS 3 LMS TCR SEQ in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition. The seasoned drivers Chris Miller and Mikey Taylor will be returning to pilot the #17 Audi for the duration of the season, to form one of the strongest lineups in the TCR class.

“I’m so happy that we could continue with Unitronic, JDC-Miller Motorsports, and most of the other partners and foundation that we built last year. 2021 was a season of highs and lows but I think we proved that we have all the pieces to win a championship. Mikey and I developed great chemistry last year and I know we will be tough to beat. The team has been working so hard this off-season and I can’t wait to get going in a few weeks at the ROAR!” said the two time Daytona winner Chris Miller.

An excited Mikey Taylor said, “I’m so excited to get going with the Unitronic JDC-Miller squad at Daytona and get another full season started! We had a lot of opportunities last year with two wins, two pole positions and several top 5’s but unfortunately we also had some really bad races! We’ve made some adjustments in the off season, and I know the guys have been working hard to give us the best possible chance to succeed. It’s great to have continuity within the team for another season with our driver lineup, crew and partners!”

Unitronic, a Canadian based company, best known for engineering industry-leading aftermarket performance enhancing software and hardware products for Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, and Lamborghini vehicles, is committed to the IMSA championship, enjoying the opportunities that its motorsports efforts bring to the business, and most importantly, provides an outlet for the company to share its passion for motorsports with all of its customers, fans, dealers and partners alike.
“The 2021 season was full of potential — the #17 was at the sharp end of just about every session throughout the entire season, thanks to the JDC-Miller Motorsports team, but ultimately we were dealt a multitude of different reliability issues that disrupted our goal to win a championship. Despite these pains, the team still managed two thrilling race victories (tied for most in class), two poles and five top-5 finishes. We learned a lot about the car, which will help us immensely this season. The car is fast and clearly showed it could compete for a championship. More importantly, motorsports aided our business in opening doors to many relationships that we formed in 2021 and look forward to fostering these relationships and creating many more for the long-term.” said John Staffi, Technical Director at Unitronic.
Along with Unitronic as the car owner and team’s title partner, Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports welcomes a renewed partnership with Liqui Moly as Official Motor Oil and Additive Supplier both in motorsports and with Unitronic at a corporate level.
